WHPK 88.5fm Events
As Co-Program Director of WHPK 88.5fm, I organize and execute many event ideas. This includes facilitating marketing for the event, such as sourcing artists to design advertising posters, sometimes designing them myself; finding venues and coordinating with venue managers; finding artists (both bands and DJs) to play at the events; managing or distributing funds for the event; and setting up and cleaning up the events, which sometimes entails organizing volunteers to assist with the task. I love doing it! Here are a few of the events I have organized.
WHPK x Tight Knit x Hallowed Grounds

This event was the first in WHPK’s new event series at Hallowed Grounds, an on-campus, student-run coffee shop. Inspired by Japanese cat cafes, I facilitated a collaboration with Tight Knit, the University of Chicago’s fiber arts club, to create a pre-finals study-break atmosphere. DJs played jazz and lo-fi music, and we worked with the baristas to offer a limited addition drink called “The Purrfect Matcha”, which was a hot peach matcha latte (so zen, highly recommend).
